Duane Joaquim
founder & Production lead
From performer to production
Duane’s path into live production started from the ground up. Entering the entertainment industry at a young age as a performer and dancer, he naturally began managing the technical elements of his own shows: emceeing, DJing, and building up an inventory of sound and lighting gear. Because he understood what it was like to be the artist on stage, he took a keen interest in learning how the technical side of an event could elevate a performance.
Over the years, that curiosity pulled him deep into the production industry. While working for prominent production houses, he developed a reputation for organisation and logistics, eventually moving into production management roles. He spent years mastering pre-planning, site visits and complex event execution, while remaining closely involved in the practical realities of delivering events on the ground.
That blend of technical expertise and hands-on experience is what shaped Concept Inc. Duane still enjoys being on site, working alongside the crew and solving the unique challenges that each venue presents. For him, successful production is about more than equipment: it's about creating an environment where audiences, performers, clients and crew can all do their best work.

We don't work alone.
Behind every production is a broader crew — riggers, specialist performers, lighting programmers and venue partners we've built relationships with over years. That network is what lets us scale from an intimate dinner to a main-stage festival without changing our standards.
We hold established relationships with venues across the Cape, including Simon's Restaurant and Hotel Sky, and a trusted pool of performers, riggers and technical suppliers across the Western Cape.
